You can divide CLCA's comprehensive collection of membership benefits into three
basic groups: business benefits, personal and professional development, and the CLCA Bookstore.
1. Business Benefits: Helping You Grow Your Business
Solve on-the-job problems with advice from your peers through the
Peer Consulting Program.
Use the most current Legal Contracts for your business.
Consult with CLCA's Attorney on Retainer, who specializes in
contractors' license law and mechanics' liens. In many cases legal questions can
be referred without a fee. Extensive consultation and representation can be provided
at reasonable fees.
Participate in our Group Insurance programs. They include workers
compensation, general liability, vehicle, loss of earnings, medical, dental, and
life insurance.
Use the Credit Union. It provides individualized and personalized
services to suit your needs.
Take advantage of Discounts on Long Distance calls.
Identify your company with the accepted professionals in the landscape industry.
Order free CLCA Logo Sheets for your letterhead and marketing materials.
Ask for free CLCA Logo Decals to display your membership on company
vehicles. Purchase CLCA Presentation Folders for
your marketing materials, bid estimates, and contracts.
Earn recognition and publicity for your accomplishments by entering CLCA's Trophy
Awards, the hallmark of excellence in the California landscape industry.
Attend our Landscape Industry Show, the largest trade show on
the West Coast for landscape and irrigation contractors. You'll save time and money
by visiting over 300 exhibitors in one place.
Once you receive CLCA's magazine, California Landscaping, you'll
be getting a steady stream of ideas and information that can help you manage your
business more profitably through better marketing ideas, new product information
and cost-reducing management tips.
Members also receive The Cutting Edge, our monthly newsletter.
This publication gives members a competitive edge by updating you with vital legislative,
regulatory, technical, and business information -- all of which affect your future.
Once a year you'll get our Directory of Members, Services
and Products. Listing all members with their primary services and specialties,
this publication puts statewide contacts at your fingertips.
Through the power of networking, CLCA provides a Neutral Forum
for members to share solutions to everyday problems. You can discuss them as friends
and colleagues -- not competitors.
Know that you are doing your part to support CLCA's Governmental Affairs
Program, which actively lobbies state and local government to protect your
livelihood.
2. Personal and Professional Development: Helping You Grow As An Individual
Whether you want to get involved at the local or state level, CLCA has a Leadership
Opportunity for you. Gain leadership training through various seminars and
workshops.
Our Certified Landscape Technician Program accredits workers
who pass unique tests of hands-on landscape skills. First developed by CLCA in 1983,
the CLT Program recognizes proficiency in the landscape work force. Today its administered
in over a dozen states and two Canadian provinces. The hands-on exam consists of
three core testing components: landscape installation, maintenance, and irrigation.
Developed by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America, the Certified
Landscape Professional (CLP) Test is sponsored by CLCA throughout the state
at various times during the year.
Improve your organization's bottom line with ideas and strategies from CLCA Seminars,
Workshops, and Educational Opportunities.
The Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF) provides
scholarships to students in the horticulture field.
